Rubaroc is excited to share a recent project that perfectly demonstrates the versatility and impact of our rubber safety surfacing—a 3,500 square-foot playground installation completed on the 16th floor of a large downtown Toronto condo building, located just steps from the Rogers Centre. While not our most complex installation, this project serves as a great example of how Rubaroc can bring safe, colourful, and long-lasting play spaces to environments of any size, height, or layout.

A Smooth, One-Week Installation from Base to Finish

Over the span of one week, our team completed the full installation, starting with the base layer that ensures stability, drainage, and long-term durability. Once the base was ready, we moved into the surfacing phase—carefully installing Rubaroc across the entire playground footprint. Coordinating a rooftop installation always requires thoughtful planning, but our crew worked efficiently to keep the timeline on track and deliver a seamless result for the building’s residents.

Six Custom Colors Brought Together in a Vibrant Design

To achieve the client’s vision, we installed six different EPDM rubber colors, each placed with precision to bring the playground design to life. The multi-color layout adds personality and visual interest, showing just how customizable Rubaroc can be—from subtle, modern palettes to bold, playful concepts. The flexibility of the material allowed us to create smooth transitions, crisp lines, and a cohesive look across the space.

A Safe, Durable Play Area in the Heart of the City

Rooftop spaces come with their own environmental challenges—sun exposure, wind, temperature shifts, and structural movement—but Rubaroc is built to handle them all. Our flexible surface adapts to movement without cracking, while its slip-resistant finish and impact-absorbing properties provide a safe, comfortable area for children to enjoy. UV-stable colors ensure the design remains bright and inviting, even under constant sunlight.
